Fundy Tidal Interpretive Centre
Witness the world famous Tidal Bore in all of Nova Scotia along the Shubenacadie (shub-en-ack-a-dee) river
The Fundy Tidal Interpretive Centre is only 1 hour from Halifax and 20 minutes from Truro. Step inside the centre and learn about the history of the Maitland/South Maitland area (as ship building and railway communities) and the tidal bore phenomenon. Also enjoy the view from our observation deck overlooking the powerful Shubenacadie River and/or our walking trail. Our trail is a great way to get some exercise and enjoy nature at its finest, maintained by Ducks Unlimited Canada, it offers a great look at marsh ecosystems and wildlife. We are also the only Visitor Information Centre in East Hants, so make sure to stop in - we can provide you with any information you need, locally or provincially.
